Summary:
The Elementary Student Success Coordinator supports the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success of students by promoting positive behavior, improving attendance, and strengthening student connectedness to school. This position collaborates with school staff, families, and community partners to implement data-informed interventions and foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering, reviewing, and analyzing student data to identify academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional needs

  • Support the implementation of PBIS, RTI, and tiered interventions, including participation in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 meetings

  • Monitor student attendance and coordinate interventions to improve attendance, including communication with families and attendance meetings

  • Collaborate with the principal to support school discipline practices and maintain a positive and safe learning environment

  • Assist with problem-solving meetings, care team meetings, and student support groups 

  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress in behavior, attendance, and school connectedness

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff during IEP meetings, grade-level meetings, and other student support meetings as needed

  • Serve as a facilitator between students and staff to resolve concerns and promote positive relationships

  • Promote positive school-community relationships with families, community partners, and local organizations

  • Participate in professional development and required training beyond the regular school schedule as needed

  • Assist with schoolwide programs and initiatives, including student support activities and data coordination projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support student success and school operations

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field

  • Valid Iowa teaching license issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, or appropriate certification in elementary education, at-risk education, or school counseling

  • Experience or background in PBIS, RTI, attendance interventions, or student support services preferred

Terms:
188-day contract. Salary and benefits per district agreement.
