BOARD MEETINGS   HOW TO ADDRESS THE ELC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Regular meetings are traditionally held on the third Monday of every month in the ELC Middle School Library (1430 1st Ave. South, Estherville, IA 51334).  The meeting date occasionally moves due to holidays.  For the most current agenda, including details about date, click on Meetings above.  Meetings traditionally begin at 5:15 p.m. and are open to the public.

While meetings are open to the public, there is not a general “question and answer” time on the agenda between the audience and the board or between the audience and presenters.

There is a public address time at the beginning of each Board meeting.  During this time, anyone of the public may address the Board on any listed agenda item.  There is a three (3) minute limit for each speaker and the Directors of the Board will not engage in a conversation but rather listen to the speaker.

Persons requesting to place an item on the agenda must make a request to the Superintendent one week (7days) prior to the monthly meeting date.  The person making the request must state the person's name, address, purpose of the presentation, action desired and pertinent background information.  Requests from the public may be added to the tentative agenda at the discretion of the Superintendent after consultation with the Board president.
