                                                                                 REGULAR MEETING

The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education held a Public Hearing and Regular Meeting on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 5:10pm in the High School Media Center.  Board members present were: Kathy Cornwall, President;  Dr. Cory Hoyer, Vice President,  Melissa Regelstad, Duane Schnell and Sandy Fandel   Others present were:  Tara Paul, Superintendent; Kate Woods, Board Secretary/Treasurer, Frank Christenson, Lili Jensen,  Kyle Steffen, Megan Miller, Shane Kalous, Sonja Gjerde, Trisha Ingham, Judi Hoffman, Cindy Bethune, Lynn Trompeter, Gordon Juhl, Brenda Juhl, Anne Peters, Beth Wycoff, Jessica Day, Christa Klingbeil, Margaret Evans, Julie Bates, Angela Larson, Julie Bates, David McCaulley, Robyn Swisher, Angela Larson, Bob Grems, Dave Swartz, Ed Funston

PUBLIC HEARING – 5:10PM

Call to Order/Roll Call                                                       President Cornwall called the public hearing to order at

5:11pm. Board members present were Hoyer, Fandel, Regelstad and Schnell.

 

Approval of Agenda                                                           Motion by Fandel, second by Regelstad to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 5-0

Public Input                                                                          None

Splash Pad Project                                                               Project Plans were presented.

Adjourn the Public Hearing                                               Motion by Hoyer, second by Schnell to adjourn the public hearing. Motion   carried 5-0.

 

  REGULAR MEETING – 5:15PM

                          Call to Order/Roll Call                                                       President Cornwall                                     called the regular meeting to order at 5:14pm.  Board members present were                                    Hoyer, Fandel, Regelstad, and Schnell.

Agenda Approval                                                                Motion by Schnell, second by Regelstad to approve the agenda with the addition of 8.5 Set a Public Hearing Date for the Demolition of South Roosevelt Building.

Motion carried 5-0.

Public Input                                                                          Robyn Swisher addressed the board on behalf of the middle school staff.

Consent Agenda                                                                  Motion by Schnell, second by Regelstad to approve the consent agenda as presented.                                                                Motion carried 5-0.

RWC Splash Pad                                                                 Board member Hoyer introduced the following Resolution entitled “RESOLUTION TO APPROVE RWC  SPLASH PAD PROJECT” and moved its adoption.  Board member Regelstad seconded the motion to adopt.  President Cornwall called for a vote with the following results:  Ayes – Hoyer, Fandel, Regelstad, Schnell, Cornwall

 Nays – None

 Abstain – None

 Absent – None

Whereas, President Cornwall declared the resolution duly adopted as follows:  RESOLVED:  The Board of Directors of the Estherville Lincoln Central Community School District approve the plans, specification, contract and estimated cost to construct a Splash Pad located at the Regional Wellness Center, 415 S 18th Street, Estherville, IA  51334

 

Early Graduation Request                                                 Motion by Fandel, second by Schnell to approve the early graduation request as presented. Motion carried 5-0.

Set Public Hearing Date for Roosevelt Demolition       Motion by Regelstad, second by Hoyer to set  February 11, 2019 at 5:10pm for a proposal of demolition of the south Roosevelt building.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Adjournment – Motion by Schnell, second by Regelstad to adjourn the meeting at 5:36 pm.    Motion carried 5-0.  The next regular meeting will be February 11, 2019 at 5:15pm.
