ESTHERVILLE LINCOLN CENTRAL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

                                                                    REGULAR MEETING

The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education held its Regular Meeting on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 5:15pm in the High School Library/Media Center. Board members present were Tony Condon, President, Jeff Soper, Vice-President, Sandy Fandel, Gordon Juhl and Kathy Beernink.  Other’s present were:  Tara Paul, Superintendent, Kate Woods, Board Secretary/Treasurer, Shane Kalous, Dave Swartz – EDN, Dan Dekker, Sara Fechter Jenny Christensen, Robyn Swisher, Stephanie Wheatley.

 Regular Meeting - 5:15pm

Call to Order/Roll Call                                                    President Condon called the regular meeting to order at 5:15pm.  Board members present were Beernink, Fandel, Soper, Juhl.

Agenda Approval                                                              Motion by Fandel, second by Soper to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 5-0.

Public Input                                                                         None

Consent Agenda                                                                 Motion by Beernink, second by Soper to approve the consent agenda as presented.   Motion carried 5-0.

Softball, Martha Greenwald – Dance Team Sponsor. ERP Applications – FY22 – Lori Nissen, Brenda Reeves, Beth Wycoff;  FY23 – Theresa Nerem, Jenny Boggess, Lynn Trompeter, Jerry Wilson, Katherine Wilson, Lisa Schmidt, Kathy Foster.  Finance Reports. Motion carried 5-0.

Highlights                                                                            Shane Kalous, Activities Director updated the board on the status of the Lakes Conference. With Western Christian leaving, there will only be five Lakes Conference teams.

New Business

FY 21 Audit Report                                                          Motion by Soper, second by Juhl to approve the FY21 Audit

                                                                                       report as presented by Williams & Company.    Motion carried

                                                                                                5-0.

March Board Meeting Date                                            Motion by Fandel, second by Beernink to move the March board meeting date to March 14, 2022.  Motion carried 5-0.

Set Public Hearing Date for FY 23 Published Budget Motion by Juhl, second by Soper to set Monday, March 14 at 5:05pm for the FY23 Published Budget hearing.  Motion carried 5-0.

Set Public Hearing Date for 22-23 Academic Calendar Motion by Beernink, second by Fandel to set

March 14, 2022, at 5:10pm for Public Hearing on the           Proposed 2022-23 Academic Calendar.  Motion carried 5-0.

Budget Guarantee Resolution                                        Director Fandel introduced the following:

 RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of ESTHERVILLE-           LINCOLN CENTRAL community school district, will levy property taxes for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.14, Code of Iowa. Seconded by Soper.   Motion carried 5-0.

President Condon - “The Board will meet as provided in IOWA CODE 20.17(3) for a collective bargaining strategy session following adjournment.” 

Adjournment – Motion by Fandel, second by Beernink to adjourn the meeting at 5:58 pm.    Motion carried 5-0.  The next regular meeting will be March 14, 2022, at 5:15pm in the High School Library.
